SCR Clips
A privacy-first game clip recorder for Windows.
SCR Clips keeps an always-on replay buffer while you play and saves the last moments with a hotkey, using the graphics card's own encoder. A built-in editor trims, crops and compresses clips to Discord's size limits. Everything stays on your computer.
Why it exists
Most clip recorders want an account, a cloud and your data. SCR Clips is meant to be the opposite: local first, nothing uploaded unless you choose to.
What was built
- Replay buffer: Always recording the last moments in memory, saved to disk only when you press the hotkey.
- Hardware encoding: NVENC, AMF or Quick Sync, so recording doesn't cost frames.
- Editor: Trim, crop, text, slow motion and zoom, with themes, hotkeys and watermarks.
- Made for sharing: Compression that targets Discord's file-size limits.
Still in development
- No installer has been released and there are no screenshots yet.
- An optional self-hosted server for sharing is designed but not shown here.
